Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to Walcot RFC. Founded in 1882 it is Bath’s oldest and most successful junior club, and for more than 20 years has recognised the importance of young players to the future of the game. Many of our current senior players at one time represented the club at youth level. Indeed, Jeremy Guscott started his rugby career with our club.

We of course hope that all our young players will follow in Jeremy’s footsteps, but it should also be stressed that our main goal is to simply offer the opportunity for everybody to play rugby to the best of their ability and through our extensive training and match programme provide a structured development, along with the tradition of rugby friendship. We have a family friendly attitude, which is enshrined in the single dominant ethos of the youth section - All committed players who attend each week will play, whatever their ability.

In addition to the rugby we hope that your child will also enjoy the social life associated with belonging to Walcot. For the mini section; our under 7,s to under 12’s this will include a Christmas party, and in most years our coaches and parent volunteers in the older age groups, have arranged very enjoyable and successful tours.
